Tata Motors has unveiled the highly anticipated 2026 Tata Punch EV facelift in India, marking the first major refresh for the popular electric micro-SUV since its debut.
The standout upgrade is the introduction of larger battery packs: a 30 kWh option for entry-level variants and a 40 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) prismatic cell pack for higher trims. The 40 kWh version boasts an impressive ARAI-certified range of 468 km, with real-world C75 testing delivering around 355 km—a substantial improvement over the previous model's maximum of 421 km (with the older 35 kWh pack). The 30 kWh pack offers up to 375 km claimed (ARAI), making the Punch EV more practical for daily commutes and longer trips.

Charging capabilities have also been enhanced. Using a 65 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be replenished from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes. A quick 15-minute session adds up to 135 km of range, ideal for on-the-go top-ups. Tata has sweetened the ownership experience with a lifetime battery warranty (unlimited kilometers) for the first registered owner, addressing common EV concerns about long-term reliability.
The facelift aligns the Punch EV more closely with the recently updated ICE Punch, featuring subtle yet modern exterior styling changes. The front fascia now includes a bolder grille with horizontal slats, a connected LED light bar across the hood, sleeker LED headlights, and a redesigned bumper with integrated fog lamps. The side profile retains the signature high SUV stance with 195 mm ground clearance, blacked-out cladding, and new alloy wheel designs. Rear updates include connected LED taillights and a refreshed tailgate.

Inside, the cabin feels more premium with updated materials, a dual-tone theme, and enhanced tech. Key highlights include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system (with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay), a digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats in higher trims, a sunroof, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, and multiple connectivity features via Tata's iRA app.
Performance is punchy for city driving. The electric motor delivers up to 130 PS (in the 40 kWh variants) and over 2000 Nm wheel torque, enabling 0-100 kmph acceleration in under 9 seconds. Gradeability is rated at 32%, water-wading depth at 450 mm, and kerb weight around 1360 kg. Drive modes include City and Sport, with multi-mode regenerative braking for efficient energy recovery.
Variant-Wise Pricing and Battery Options (Ex-Showroom)
Tata has streamlined the lineup with six main variants across two battery configurations. Prices reflect a reduction compared to the pre-facelift model (which started at Rs. 9.99 lakh and went up to Rs. 14.44 lakh), making it more competitive.

Additionally, Tata introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, lowering the upfront cost to Rs. 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom) with a per-km battery usage charge of around Rs. 2.6/km. This makes EV ownership more affordable for budget-conscious buyers.
