Strong year-end demand, festive season promotions, attractive discounts, and favorable tax incentives fueled this surge, benefiting especially sub-4m models and premium hatchbacks.
Maruti Suzuki dominated the charts, with the Baleno reclaiming the top spot as the best-selling car of the month (22,108 units, +143% YoY). The Fronx followed closely in second, while Tata Nexon held third. A notable shift saw the Mahindra Scorpio (including N and Classic variants) outsell the Hyundai Creta by a margin of 2,731 units (15,885 vs 13,154).
In the midsize SUV segment, Creta still leads, trailed by Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, and the newcomer Maruti Victoris. Excitingly, the Tata Sierra begins deliveries from January 15, 2026, with bookings already open.
