The Perth Scorchers have once again underlined their status as the most successful men's franchise in Big Bash League history, claiming a record-extending sixth BBL title with a commanding six-wicket victory over the Sydney Sixers at Optus Stadium on 25 January 2026.
In front of a passionate home crowd of around 55,000, Perth delivered a complete performance with both bat and ball. After restricting Sydney to just 132 all out, the Scorchers chased down the target comfortably, reaching the required total with 15 balls remaining.
Mitchell Marsh's side entered the final as favourites after topping the group stage and defeating the Sixers in the Qualifier. They then produced another disciplined display when it mattered most.
The result not only secured another trophy but further strengthened Perth's extraordinary record in Australia's premier domestic T20 competition.
Rain Delay Creates Tricky Conditions
Earlier rain caused a slight delay and left the surface offering assistance to the bowlers.
After winning the toss, Perth captain Mitchell Marsh made the decision to field first. It proved to be a significant tactical choice.
The damp pitch made stroke-making difficult during the opening stages, while Perth's seamers maintained excellent lines and lengths.
Sydney Sixers struggled to establish momentum.

The Scorchers began their chase with exactly the aggression they needed.
Mitchell Marsh and Finn Allen immediately put pressure on the Sydney bowlers.
The pair added 80 runs from just 8.2 overs, effectively taking the contest away from the Sixers before the halfway point of the innings.
Allen played the aggressor's role, scoring 36 from 22 deliveries with a series of attacking strokes.
Marsh provided stability at the other end, producing a captain's innings of 44 from 43 balls.
The partnership ensured the required run rate never became a serious concern.
Sydney eventually fought back through Sean Abbott, who claimed 2/19, including the wickets of both openers.
However, by then Perth were firmly in control.
Josh Inglis Finishes the Job
With the target within touching distance, Josh Inglis calmly guided Perth towards victory.
Inglis remained unbeaten on 29 from 26 balls, rotating the strike intelligently while waiting for the right opportunity to finish the contest.
