Saudi Arabia Vs Singapore, Quadrangular Series: SDA Claim Victory By 96 Runs In Kuala Lumpur.
The fourth fixture of the Malaysia Quadrangular T20I Series 2025, held on April 25 at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, delivered a compelling spectacle as Saudi Arabia decimated Singapore by a mammoth 96 runs. With this dominant win, Saudi Arabia have now firmly planted themselves at the top of the tournament table with four points from two matches and an impressive net run rate of +4.050. In contrast, Singapore's campaign continues to falter, remaining winless after two games.

Saudi Arabia’s Commanding Batting Display

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Saudi Arabia showcased an aggressive yet calculated batting performance. Faisal Khan emerged as the standout performer with a well-constructed 62, combining solid technique and attacking intent. Supporting him ably was Abdul Waheed, who blazed his way to 55, stitching vital partnerships that laid the foundation for a competitive total.

Despite wickets falling at regular intervals, the team maintained a brisk scoring rate, eventually posting 178/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Singapore’s bowlers attempted to restrict the flow of runs, with Harsh Venkataram leading the effort with a superb 4/20. Kashif Ali Khan also chipped in effectively, returning figures of 2/32. Nevertheless, the total set by Saudi Arabia was always going to be challenging under the lights in Kuala Lumpur.

Singapore’s Batting Collapse

In response, Singapore’s chase began under pressure and never quite got off the ground. The batting line-up crumbled under Saudi Arabia’s relentless bowling assault. While Aritra Dutta provided a lone resistance with a gritty 56, the lack of support from the other end led to an insurmountable collapse. Singapore managed only 82/9 in their full quota of 20 overs.

Usman Khalid was in lethal form, slicing through the Singaporean batting order with figures of 3/13. He found able assistance from Waji Ul Hassan (2/13), Usman Najeeb (1/6), and Zain Ul Abidin (1/12), whose timely breakthroughs ensured there was no comeback for Singapore.

Saudi Arabia’s Impressive Tournament So Far

With back-to-back convincing wins, Saudi Arabia’s campaign in the Malaysia Quadrangular T20I Series 2025 is gathering considerable momentum. Their previous match saw them overcome Thailand by 66 runs, establishing themselves early on as title favourites. Their current net run rate of +4.050 underlines their dominance, both with the bat and the ball.

As the team prepares for their next clash against Thailand on April 28, confidence will be running high in the Saudi camp. Skipper Waji Ul Hassan will be particularly pleased with the form of his key players like Faisal Khan, Abdul Waheed, and Usman Khalid.

Singapore’s Struggles Continue

On the other hand, Singapore’s loss to Saudi Arabia adds further misery to their campaign, following an opening defeat to hosts Malaysia. The team needs to regroup and address its batting frailties if it wishes to turn things around in the coming games. Singapore’s next encounter against Thailand on April 26 is a must-win to keep their hopes alive in the tournament.

The form of Aritra Dutta will be key, but others must step up, particularly in the middle order, which has been largely ineffective so far. With their bowling attack showing some promise, it's the batting unit that now requires urgent fixing.
